Charitable Giving
Listed below are some of the charities (local and national) Get It In Your Soul supports with financial donations:
- CornerStone of Bloomington, MN, whose mission is to offer families who have experienced domestic abuse a continuum of service that builds sustainable self-reliance and revives the human spirit. We educate, advocate, and lead the way to social change. http://www.cornerstonemn.org/.
- Union Gospel Mission, Twin Cities, MN, works to meet the needs of the homeless men, women and children in the Twin Cities. Naomi Family Residence Program takes its direction straight from the words of Naomi in the Bible: “My daughter, should I not try to find a home for you, where you will be well provided for?” (Ruth 3:1). In addition to shelter and care for the previously homeless women with children, our Center for Independence program teaches the skills and infuses the confidence for women to move forward and with God’s help, provide for themselves and their children. http://www.ugmtc.org/.
- Rebuild Resources, Twin Cities, MN, is a non-profit enterprise helping recovering men and women rebuild their lives through the most powerful social program of all: A job. Founded in 1984 by a recovering alcoholic, we provide meaningful, transitional employment for men and women who want to become sober, self-sufficient and of service. At Rebuild, the alcoholic or addict finds a recovery-laden, Twelve-Step environment and is seen with compassion, but not illusion. We demand productivity, accountability and forward motion. Student-employees stay long enough to stabilize, build a job history and work reference, gain tangible skills, and build their capacity to be valuable to an employer. Then we help them land a permanent job, and make room for the next candidate. Our businesses also serve as the economic engines that sustain our work. We aim for self-sufficiency by funding eighty percent of our budget from business revenues, and twenty percent from the generosity of individuals, foundations, businesses, churches, and service organizations. No government funding is currently sought or received. Our work works. We've graduated more than nine hundred men and women, with a measured success rate of sixty-eight percent and a social return of nearly half a million dollars per successful graduate. With your support - as customer, business partner, mentor or donor - we continue to deliver dramatic human and social results. http://www.rebuildresources.com/.
- National House of Hope is a non-denominational, not-for-profit organization established to serve as a catalyst to the development of a network of Houses of Hope, Christian residential programs for troubled teenagers, across the country and internationally. This work is based upon Biblical principles, proven to provide both workable and successful solutions in restoring troubled teens and their families, resulting in these teens becoming solid citizens and effective, contributing members of society. National House of Hope provides training, consulting, guidance in resource development and serves as a communications network in the establishment of Houses of Hope by those who share this vision. Through national awareness, guidance and training, while building on the strength of the local model, House of Hope Orlando in Orlando, Florida, National House of Hope is working toward its vision to have a House of Hope within driving distance of every major city in America by 2010. http://www.nationalhouseofhope.org/.
- Joyce Meyer Ministries, has a God-ordained mandate to impact the world. God requires that we teach people how to apply biblical truth in every facet of their lives and encourage Christians to influence every aspect of the world around them (Matthew 28:18-20; Isaiah 1:17). We present a creative and relevant message of Christ and His love for people worldwide using the most powerful forms of media and communications available, as well as the development and distribution of practical teaching resources. We provide global humanitarian aid to hurting people and teach Christians and non-Christians alike how to enjoy everyday life by applying biblical principles in all they do (John 10:10). http://www.joycemeyer.org/.
- Children’s Cancer Research Fund, Children's Cancer Research Fund is a leading non-profit organization committed to funding innovative and progressive research in the fight against childhood cancer. In the 1950's the cure rate for childhood cancer was 10%; today, it's close to 75%. What do those involved in Children's Cancer Research Fund say to that? Not good enough! We imagine a world without childhood cancer and believe it is more than possible. We celebrate the progress made so far, while staying focused on helping to make that dream a reality. http://www.childrenscancer.org/.
